About us
Spooru was born with a clear mission: to make life simpler for the people who make grassroots sport happen. Running an amateur club takes passion, hours of effort and endless logistics — so we built a free portal for football and basketball clubs to run everything from one place.
Why Spooru exists
We saw the same problem again and again: endless WhatsApp threads, calendars that never match up between families and coach, loose receipts, and spreadsheets only their creator understands. A lack of budget or technical know-how shouldn't hold a club back from growing — so we decided to build the tool we wished we'd had.
Over a year testing it with real clubs
Spooru wasn't built on paper. We've spent over a year testing and refining the whole platform with real football and basketball clubs — every feature comes from an actual need a club raised with us, and gets tested there first before it reaches everyone else.
Our commitment
We believe a lack of budget shouldn't hold any grassroots team back. That's why everything essential in Spooru — seasons, teams, calendars, call-ups, stats, messaging and training planning — is free for the club, always, not just during a trial.
