What each role can do in Spooru

Spooru brings together in one place what a grassroots sports club needs. Each role sees and does only what is theirs: the club sets things up, staff run them day to day, and families follow along from their phone.

Free for clubs. Families see a short ad, or can remove it with a subscription. The Creator plan is optional.

How it all fits together

The club registers the season, the teams, the players and the staff. Coaches prepare their team's calendar, call-ups and sessions. Families receive notifications, confirm attendance and follow the calendar, standings and payments. What one changes shows up instantly for the others.

The club

For whoever runs the club: administrators and coordinators. They set Spooru up and see every team.

  • Seasons and player rollover

    What it does

Create each season with its categories and its football or basketball teams. When the next one starts, carry players over, checking the category each one belongs in for their age.

    What it brings

You don't start from scratch every year, and nobody is left in a category that no longer fits.

  • Squads and player records

    What it does

Each team's squad with a photo (checked automatically to make sure it is appropriate), shirt number, position, date of birth and the date of the medical check.

    What it brings

The whole club in one place, with no spreadsheets or paper forms, and medical checks under control.

  • Coaches and team delegates

    What it does

Invite coaches and delegates and assign them to their teams. See all club staff at a glance and which teams each person belongs to.

    What it brings

Each person only gets into the teams they run, and access is granted or removed in a moment.

  • Linked families and players

    What it does

Invite families from each player's record. From age 16 the player can have their own access too; the billing contact remains the family.

    What it brings

Families sign in with their own account and see only their own child, with no data passed around in chat groups.

  • Club-wide calendar

    What it does

All matches, training sessions and tournaments of every team in one calendar. Create the recurring training sessions for the whole season, skipping national and local holidays.

    What it brings

A single source of truth that staff and families both see, always up to date.

  • Facilities and rival clubs

    What it does

Save your pitches and halls, and those of each rival club, with their location on the map.

    What it brings

Every match shows where it is played and how to get there, and tournament schedules come together in minutes.

  • Tournaments, leagues and standings

    What it does

Create multi-date or one-day tournaments with the match schedule against each rival, and keep each competition's official standings up to date.

    What it brings

Families always see their team's schedule and standings without anyone having to send them.

  • Configurable automatic reminders

    What it does

Choose how many days ahead a match is announced, how many hours before training, and when staff are reminded to take attendance. Reminders arrive as a phone notification and, if unseen, by email.

    What it brings

Families find out about everything without anyone telling them by hand.

  • Payments, fees and club shop

    What it does

Monthly fee with sibling pricing and a registration fee, SEPA direct debit with batches and bank reconciliation, instant card payment and a catalogue of club products (kit, with sizes and stock). Includes payouts and receipts.

    What it brings

Payments and receipts in one place, with a record of what was collected and what was returned, without chasing payments separately.

  • Reports to print or save as PDF

    What it does

Player list with medical check and family contact, season calendar with results, call-ups and receipts, ready to print or save as PDF.

    What it brings

Documents for the federation, the facility or a meeting, without formatting anything.

  • Change log and data protection

    What it does

A log of additions, edits and removals showing who did it and when. Data from old seasons is deleted automatically after two years, and billing data according to legal deadlines, always with advance notice.

    What it brings

You know what has happened in the club and meet child data-protection duties with less effort.

Coaches and staff

For coaches and team delegates. They see and manage only the teams they run.

  • Their team on one screen

    What it does

The team page brings together the calendar, the squad and shortcuts to messages, training plans, line-ups and statistics. Only the teams that person runs appear.

    What it brings

Everything about the team at hand, without seeing anything that isn't theirs.

  • One-off matches and trainings

    What it does

Create, change or cancel a friendly, a special training session or a last-minute change for a specific day.

    What it brings

If the date, time or facility changes, or it is cancelled, families are notified automatically.

  • One-day tournament from the calendar

    What it does

From the team calendar, create a one-day tournament with the rivals taking part and the time of each match.

    What it brings

Each family gets a single notice with all the day's matches and answers once for all of them.

  • Call-ups and attendance

    What it does

When an event is created every active player is called up; staff remove anyone who isn't going, see who has confirmed, take attendance with one tap from the phone and print the call-up sheet.

    What it brings

You know who is coming before leaving home, and attendance is recorded for the statistics.

  • Chasing families who haven't replied

    What it does

Spooru reminds families who haven't replied yet and sends staff a summary of who is missing. It also reminds staff to take attendance.

    What it brings

Fewer messages chasing answers and fewer surprises on match day.

  • Training plans and sessions

    What it does

Sessions with phases, timings and exercises from the library. Start from session templates, apply a ready-made full-season plan, or generate one automatically from the team's age, level and calendar. They can be printed.

    What it brings

A complete session ready in minutes, matched to the team's age and the real length of the training.

  • Line-ups

    What it does

Place players on the pitch or court, in a formation or freely, and save reusable line-ups or ones tied to a match.

    What it brings

You prepare the match and explain it to the team visually.

  • Match and season statistics

    What it does

Record goals, assists and cards in football, or points and fouls in basketball. The team gets a per-player summary of call-ups, training attendance and matches played.

    What it brings

A record for each player and for the season without spreadsheets; families see their own child's.

  • Team standings

    What it does

Keeps the standings of the team's competitions up to date, as published by the federation or the organiser.

    What it brings

Families see where the team stands without having to ask.

  • Team messaging

    What it does

Post notices for the whole team, chat with families in the team chat, with other staff in their own chat and privately with whoever is needed.

    What it brings

An official team channel instead of yet another chat group, with phone notifications.

Families and players

For mothers, fathers, guardians and players with their own access. They view and respond; they do not manage the club.

  • A panel for each child

    What it does

The panel shows the next event with time, place and map, whether the player is called up, their statistics and whether the medical check is valid. With several children, they all appear in one place, even in different teams.

    What it brings

You see at a glance what is on this week, without asking in any group.

  • Team calendar and standings

    What it does

The calendar of the child's team with matches, training sessions and tournaments, and the standings of its competition.

    What it brings

Each family sees only its own team, always up to date.

  • Confirm attendance with one tap

    What it does

“I'll be there” or “Can't make it” from the app or straight from the phone notification, without opening it. In a one-day tournament, one answer covers all of that day's matches.

    What it brings

The coach knows who to count on, and the family replies in a second.

  • Phone notifications

    What it does

Notifications for call-ups, match and training reminders, changes of time or place, and cancellations. If the notification doesn't arrive, an email is sent.

    What it brings

You hear about a change of time in good time, without depending on someone posting it in a group.

  • Messages with the team and coach

    What it does

Read staff notices, join the team chat and write privately to a coach.

    What it brings

A clear channel with the club, with official notices kept apart from the conversation between families.

  • Payments, fees and shop

    What it does

Check pending and paid fees, and view or print receipts. Depending on what the club enables, pay by card on the spot or by direct debit, and order club products such as kit.

    What it brings

Everything paid to the club is visible, with its receipts.

  • Players with their own access

    What it does

From age 16 the player can have their own access: they see their calendar, call-ups and their team's standings. The billing contact remains the family.

    What it brings

Older players manage their own attendance without depending on their parents.

  • Like an app, with no app store

    What it does

It is added to the phone's home screen and opens like an app, with instant notifications. On iPhone, notifications need iOS 16.4 or later and the app installed.

    What it brings

Free, with nothing to download from a store, and in the language you prefer.

  • With a short ad or ad-free

    What it does

Families see a short ad when opening the app, which keeps the service free for the club. Anyone who prefers not to can remove it with a monthly or per-season subscription.

    What it brings

The club pays nothing; the family decides whether to watch the ad or subscribe.
